1. Who started this website?
TrueAcceptance.com was established by two people with family histories
of mental illness. It is currently run by individuals who have been
personally affected by mental illness, have worked in the mental health
field for many years, and/or have family histories.
2. Why was this website created?
People with mental illness are often times not seen as capable of
maintaining healthy relationships. We see things vastly different. We
know the benefit for any human being to engage in relationships whether
of a friendly or more intimate nature. We also realize that sometimes
people with mental illnesses feel very isolated and we wanted to make it
easier for them to socialize with others, make friends, seek out
partners, and to have a forum to discuss important issues.
3. Why would I pay for this service when there are free relationship
sites out there?
There are several reasons actually. 1.)With trueacceptance.com you don’t
have to fear disclosure. 2.)We do not advertise on this site, which is
where sites usually make most of their money. So, that old saying that,
“nothing is for free” is usually the case. A site that advertises can
track your interests by the sites you come from or leave to. This
information is often times taken to advertise specifically to those
interests. So, yes you are not paying a membership fee, but you will
most likely pay through the purchases of unnecessary items. 3.) Having a
membership fee to contact other members provides a layer of protection.
Ask yourself this question. If you were interested in taking advantage
of someone or wanted to “have fun” at the expense of another human
being, would you pay for a membership at trueacceptance.com to do so, or
would you join one of the many free sites that would allow you the same
access?
4. How do I delete my account?
Simply email us your username and password to customersupport@trueacceptance.com,
and we will promptly delete your account.
5. How can I upgrade to a premium membership without having a credit
card or paypal account?
Include your username on a money order and send to:

6. Should I join just to make friends, or is this site for romantic
relationships only?
The choice is yours. As you search through member profiles you will
notice that current members are looking for only friendships, only
relationships, or both friendships and relationships.
7. Why would I need a background check?
Some people feel more comfortable knowing about someone’s legal history
before making contact or meeting an individual. We provide a link to a
background company on our site and suggest you click on that link for
more information if you are considering doing a background check.
8. Is this site for friends and family or just consumers?
Many family and friends of consumers are already getting involved. For a
more thorough description, please see the Availability and Eligibility
section of the Terms of Use located on the trueacceptance.com website.
9. What's the difference between a free and premium membership?
A free membership allows the creation of a free profile which can be
viewed by other members. The free membership also allows those members
to search other member profiles. The premium membership will allow
members to contact other members through the internal messaging system.
No contact information, such as email address, will be provided to other
members from our end. The displaying of personal information must be
provided from one member to another of their own choosing. The other
feature made available to premium members is chat.
10. What should I do if I see problems with the site?
As with any new site, there are bound to be issues. We apologize for any
that you may come across but ask that you please email us those issues
to customersupport@trueacceptance.com.
11. Why do I have to wait 24-48 hours for profile updates to go
through?
We view each profile and profile update before approval. We realize this
is incredibly labor intensive on our part, but we want to ensure that
inappropriate comments or photos are not presented to other members
attempting to enjoy their experience with trueacceptance.com.
12. What if these answers don’t answer my questions?
Email us at customersupport@trueacceptance.com, and we will attempt to
answer all questions not covered in this section.
