1. Who started this website?
TrueAcceptance.com was established by two social workers who have been personally affected by mental illness, have worked in the mental health field for many years, and/or have family histories.
2. Why was this website created?
People with mental illness are often times seen as incapable of maintaining healthy relationships. We see things vastly different, and we know there can be many wonderful benefits from engaging in relationships whether of a friendly or more intimate nature.
3. What if I have forgotten my log-in information?
There is a link on the Home page called Forgot Password. Simply click there and enter your email address. Your information will be sent to that email.
4. How do I delete my account?
Go to the My Profile page, click on the Edit Profile link, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Unregister link.
5. Should I join just to make friends, or is this site for dating only?
The choice is yours. As you search through member profiles you will notice that current members are looking for only friendship, only dating, or both friendship and dating.
6. Why should I upload a photo?
You will greatly improve your chances of having another member make contact with you.
7. What do you do about Scammers/Spammer?
We hope to catch most when reviewing profiles, and if we do, we block their IP address. We also hope that members will take advantage of the Report buttons located throughout the site to help us with the effort.
8. What if someone asks me for money?
They are in all probability a scammer. We urge you to report these individuals to us through the reporting system or by emailing us at customersupport@trueacceptance.com.
9. What should I do if I see problems with the site?
As with any site, there are bound to be issues from time to time. We apologize for any that you may come across but ask that you please email us those issues to customersupport@trueacceptance.com.
10. What if these answers don’t answer my questions?
Email us at customersupport@trueacceptance.com, and we will attempt to answer all questions not covered in this section. We would also appreciate any feedback or suggestions for site improvement.
